1. The Basics of Our Data Collection

We built the Google Review Calculator with one clear rule. We collect nothing. Our tool runs directly inside your web browser. You do not need to create an account. You do not need to enter an email address. You do not need to provide your business name.

When you type numbers into the calculator, that data stays on your screen. It never travels to our servers. We have no databases storing your target ratings or review counts. We designed it this way on purpose. We hate giving up our personal data just to use a free tool on the internet. We treat our users exactly how we want to be treated.

2. How We Use Local Storage and URL Parameters

We want you to share your calculations easily. To make this work, the calculator updates the URL address bar as you type. If you enter a target rating of 4.5, the URL adds "?target=4.5" to the end.

This happens so you can copy the link and send it to your business partner. Or you can bookmark the page to check it later. The link contains your exact numbers. However, this data only exists in the URL itself. We do not track these URLs. We do not store them. Your browser saves the bookmark, not our servers.

3. Third-Party Services and Analytics

Most websites load dozens of hidden tracking scripts. They follow you across the internet. We refuse to do this. We do not use Google Analytics. We do not use Meta Pixel. We do not run any retargeting advertisements.

Our website uses basic server logs. When you visit any website, the host server records your IP address, browser type, and the time of your visit. This standard practice keeps the website secure and blocks automated spam attacks. We use Netlify/Vercel/Cloudflare for hosting, and they maintain these basic security logs. We do not analyze these logs for marketing purposes.

4. Your Privacy Rights

Different countries have different privacy laws. You might know about the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA in California. These laws give you the right to ask companies what data they hold about you. They also give you the right to demand deletion of that data.

Since we collect absolutely zero personal data, we already comply with the strictest interpretations of these laws. You have the right to request your data file from us. If you ask, we will reply and confirm we hold nothing. You have the right to request deletion. We cannot delete what we do not have.

5. Security of Browser Execution

We built this calculator using a technology called React. When you load the page, your browser downloads a small JavaScript file. Your computer runs the math locally. This method guarantees security. Hackers cannot intercept your data between our server and your computer because no data transmission occurs during the calculation.

6. Children's Privacy

Our website targets business owners and marketing professionals. We do not knowingly design content for children under 13. If you believe a child provided us with personal information, contact us immediately. We will investigate and destroy any unintended records.

7. Changes to This Policy

We keep things simple, so we rarely change this policy. If we decide to add a user login feature in the future, we will update this document. We will explain exactly what new data we collect and why. Check the "Last updated" date at the top of this page to see when we last made changes.

8. Data Retention and Log Management

As mentioned earlier, our hosting provider automatically generates server logs. These logs capture basic technical data. They record IP addresses, browser types, and access times. Hosting companies use these logs to monitor server health. They use them to block DDoS attacks. They use them to prevent malicious bots from overwhelming the system.

We configure our hosting account to retain these raw security logs for the minimum time required by industry standards. Usually, this means the logs exist for 30 days before the system overwrites them automatically. We never download these logs. We never store them on our personal computers. We never attempt to link an IP address in a log file back to a specific user or business.

By keeping our data footprint as small as mathematically possible, we eliminate risk. You cannot leak data you never collected in the first place. For more details on acceptable use, read our Terms and Conditions.
